Northwood (HA6): live in companion carer

A professional, compassionate and amiable permanent live-in carer is sought to assist an elderly couple in Northwood, Middlesex

  • Start date: Preferably 01/07/2019 but dependent on finding the right candidate.
  • Days/Hours: Live-in position. Daily working hours not fixed, but will be 5 days with 2 days off (mid week). Weekend working required.
  • Salary: £27,000 to £30,000 gross per annum dependent on experience, to include free accommodation; comprising of own room with private shower and basin. Private WC along hall way. 

This pleasant elderly couple are seeking a long-term and reliable carer to assist them to complete day to day activities, and enable them to remain living safely and independently at home. As the couple are currently fairly able, and are very well set up at home, after required tasks are completed, there will be significant periods of free time.

Your tasks will include daily assistance with personal care morning and evening. Simple health monitoring and supervision of tablet taking, also assistance travelling to appointments as required (car available). In addition to these tasks, there will be general day to day upkeep of the house to include amongst others, light housekeeping and tidying, laundry, bed linen changes, and assistance with meal preparation.

The ideal candidate will be willing to live in, provide a long-term commitment to the post, and be flexible and easy going. You should have an up to date DBS certificate (ideally on the update service), be currently living in the UK and legally able to work in the UK, a clean driving license and excellent verifiable references. In addition to this you should be fluent in English and have extensive experience working with male clients in a caring role.
